January, here we are

 What do we want, what is the end game here?

This is a question I have been thinking about and one I have been asking Doni.

Do we want to make money as content creators for Magic? Do you do this just for fun?

I do not have the answer to my own question. I only know that I enjoy this game and I enjoying having this experience with Doni!💑

For now, we enjoy Magic and Commander will continue seeing where it takes us.😀

It is January 1 and we have several projects I enjoy

We have a discord that we need to do more with and be more active in.
We are attempting to start a Podcast on YouTube.  - we just finished the first episode 


I feel like I'm growing as a player and it's being noticed.

We are getting away from the DDFC (Doni Dies First Club)
we will instead be focusing on the HIT LIST.
The HIT LIST is something we are still working through.
it will be a combination of those we want to play with and have not played with yet and then those that we want a rematch with.

We will continue keeping track of:
  • When we play
  • who wins when we play
  • which commanders we have played
  • which commanders we have played against
  • which streams we have been on
  • who we have on our stream
New this year in addition to the HITLIST will be us keeping better track of the decks we have, we make and the ones we take apart.

I'm excited to see what 2023 will bring us.

Streaming on Twitch

Streaming on Twitch has opened so many doors and windows for us. We took a break from Magic and then we came back to it. When we came back to it I started with Instagram when I started seeing posts for Magic. I was like wait, what is happening here.  I tried Twitter, and honestly at first it seemed toxic and I did not want anything to do with it. In time I learned it is only as toxic as you make it or allow it to be. When Doni and I got more active on Twitter we found Twitch. There was some Twitch before that, but I had no idea how many streamers there were who played paper commander on stream. We guested as much as we could and continued to play off stream as well.  Once we started our own stream with the help of so many friends who got as started it opened so many possibilities for us and we have met some amazing people. One day I reached out to Sheldon of the Rule Committee and said: He wrote back almost right away and asked me to guest on the RC Stream! I was blown away. Every time

Defeated feeling after games

 Thoughts after some games we played today - these are the thoughts of Jen. Today we played a couple of games and the first game seemed to be moving along, but my deck was not quite at the same level. It felt bad. Then I started thinking about it and I do not need to feel bad, I do need to recognize sometimes decks are not matched up and that is going to happen. I do not typically interact with the game in a way that prevents my opponents from doing what they want to do unless it has an impact on what I am trying to do. I do not enjoy playing against decks that interact with the game often as I feel this puts a damper on things. I am not saying there is anything wrong with playing a specific way, I am writing this to help recognize how I feel.
